Renowned broadcast journalist Rebecca Tweneboah Darko, popularly known as Becky of JoyNews, has been nominated for the Emerging Brands in Africa Awards, a recognition that celebrates professionals shaping influence and innovation across the continent.
Becky’s nomination reflects her more than 10 years of service with The Multimedia Group Limited, where she has distinguished herself as both a journalist and team lead.
She is widely known for hosting and producing flagship entertainment programmes, including E Vibes on JoyNews and Joy Prime, which have become staples for arts, culture and lifestyle audiences.
In its citation, the awards board described Becky as an accomplished Ghanaian broadcaster whose impact extends beyond traditional media. Her work as an entertainment host, coupled with her entrepreneurial pursuits, has seen her build a strong presence within corporate and business circles.
Beyond broadcasting, Becky currently serves as Regional Manager for Umbrella Management Group, a role she assumed in August 2024 to drive the company’s expansion across Africa. She is also the founder and manager of GS Concierge Ltd, a luxury lifestyle and travel management firm, and doubles as News Manager for GS Global Magazine, a United States–based publication.
Her growing profile has been reinforced by multiple honours, including Media Personality of the Year and TV Personality of the Year at the Ghana Media and Entrepreneurship Awards in October 2025, underscoring her rising influence within Ghana’s media and creative industry.
