A new opinion poll conducted by Global InfoAnalytics suggests that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) is well-positioned to retain the Ayawaso East parliamentary seat in the March 2026 by-election.
The survey indicates that either of the two leading contenders in the NDC’s parliamentary primary would defeat the New Patriotic Party (NPP) candidate in a straight contest.
In one projected matchup, Hajia Amina Adams, the widow of the late MP, is commanding 73 per cent of voter support against the NPP’s Baba Ali. In an alternative scenario, Baba Jamal also secures a decisive lead, polling 67 per cent compared to Baba Ali’s 33 per cent.

The findings were made public by the Executive Director of Global InfoAnalytics, Mussa Dankwah, in a Facebook post on Thursday, February 5.
The poll also gauged voter preferences within the NDC ahead of its parliamentary primary in the constituency.
According to the results, Hajia Amina Adams is the clear front-runner, attracting 58 per cent support among respondents.

Baba Jamal follows with 32 per cent, while the other aspirants trail significantly, with Muhammed Ramne polling 5 per cent, Dr Yakubu Azindow 3 per cent, and Najib Muhammed Sani 2 per cent.
The poll suggests that the NDC enters the by-election season with a strong advantage in Ayawaso East, both in terms of its internal contest and its prospects against the opposition.
