The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service has taken steps to strengthen its working relationship with the Department of Defence Intelligence.
The Director-General of the CID, Commissioner of Police Lydia Yaako Donkor, led a delegation to the Department of Defence Intelligence at Burma Camp on Thursday, February 5.
The visit was aimed at improving collaboration between the two institutions in order to enhance operational efficiency and professionalism.
During the meeting, COP Donkor expressed her appreciation to the Chief of Defence Intelligence, Major General Stephen Woseadzikpo Kweku Parbey, for his continued cooperation, support and information sharing.
She reaffirmed the CID’s “unwavering commitment” to supporting the operations of the General Headquarters Department of Defence Intelligence (GHQ DI).
She described the visit as an important step towards building stronger institutional ties. According to her, it would help improve personnel capacity and sharpen operational skills through structured training programmes and specialised courses.
She added that both institutions would benefit from sharing technical expertise, drawing lessons from each other, and improving overall operational effectiveness.
Major General Parbey, in his remarks, commended the Ghana Police Service for its long-standing and productive partnership with the Ghana Armed Forces.
He said he was keen to further strengthen collaboration between GHQ DI and the Ghana Police Service, particularly in the areas of intelligence sharing and capacity building.
