Violence broke out in Kpandai in the Northern Region today after rival traditional factions clashed over a disputed piece of land, leading to the burning of three motorbikes.
Eyewitnesses say tensions had been simmering between the groups, with both sides laying claim to the land. The confrontation reportedly erupted when one faction attempted to demarcate the area, prompting the opposing side to intervene.
“They started throwing stones, and before we knew it, the situation escalated,” an eyewitness recounted, adding that the chaos resulted in the motorbikes being set ablaze.
Police have since been deployed to the area to restore calm and prevent further violence.
