Hohoe United secured a 2-1 home victory over Nations FC in week 22 of the Ghana Premier League.
The hosts made a good start and took the lead just seven minutes in through William Oduro.
Four minutes later, Lawson Bekui doubled Hohoe’s advantage to stun the visitors and put the home side in control.
Nations FC responded with urgency and nearly pulled one back in the 19th minute when Brandon Sarpong’s short corner found Evans Sarfo, whose effort missed the target by an inch.
The pressure eventually paid off in the 36th minute when Grippman Raymond outjumped his marker to head home a cross from Danso, reducing the deficit.
On the half-hour mark,
Sarpong produced a moment of brilliance, driving through the defence before seeing his strike crash against the woodwork.
Despite Nations’ second-half push for an equaliser, Hohoe held firm to secure all three points.
The result leaves Hohoe in the relegation zone with 23 points but with renewed belief ahead of their trip to Aduana FC.
Nations, who remain 11th on 27 points, will aim to bounce back when they face Dreams in their next fixture.
