Nollywood actress, Rosy Meurer, has reacted to backlash over her inconsistent claims about Tonto Dikeh’s failed marriage to Olakunle Churchill.
This comes a few hours after she denied ever knowing, meeting, or having any personal relationship with Tonto Dikeh when she was still married to Churchill.
The ex-couple divorced in 2017 over Churchill’s alleged extramarital affair with Meurer, who was alleged to be Tonto’s best friend.
Denying the allegation, Meurer, in a video, said she was the couple’s family friend.
‘”He (Churchill) and his wife remain family to me. We once hang out together before,” Meurer said at the time.
Four years after the couple’s divorce, Meurer got married to Churchill.
The news of their marriage generated controversy with people on social media accusing her of snatching her best friend’s husband.
Finally addressing the five-year controversy about her marriage on Wednesday, Meurer, in a new video on Instagram, denied ever having any relationship with Tonto Dikeh in the past.
Following her new claim, Meurer faced backlash for not being consistent.
Speaking amid the backlash, Meurer in a lengthy Instagram post, attributed the previous video, in which she described Churchill and Tonto as “family friends”, to pressure from her management.
While claiming that she was forced to lie, she said, “You want me to hang on to the nonsense old video I made in fear due to the fact that I was so young and innocent.
“I was dragged into violence by force. With all the pressure then, PR team will make you say many things even if you don’t feel it is right. Right now whatever I say is THE REAL TRUTH. I am now older and wiser. No PR team can force me to say what they believed is better than my truth. If you like, bring videos of 1000 years ago. It does not change my reality.”
