Philanthropist and businessman Alhaji Seidu Agongo has donated beverages and prayer materials to Muslim students of Accra Academy Senior High School as part of activities marking this year’s Ramadan.
The donation reaffirmed his long-standing commitment to community support and youth development.

Alhaji Agongo said the gesture was inspired by the spirit of compassion, generosity and unity that defines the holy month, adding that his humble upbringing continues to shape his dedication to supporting the vulnerable and nurturing the next generation.
The donation adds to a long list of philanthropic initiatives by the businessman, whose charitable works span health, education and social welfare.

The founder of the collapsed Heritage Bank has previously equipped the Child Emergency Block at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital and funded scholarships for hundreds of brilliant but needy students nationwide.
He also supported widows and other underprivileged people during the COVID-19 pandemic, provided relief for victims of the Akosombo Dam spillage, and contributed to national efforts such as the Mahama Cares Fund.

Beyond emergency relief, Agongo has invested in major social infrastructure. He recently funded the construction of an eight-bed facility for “unknown patients” at the Ghana Police Hospital, an intervention the Police Service described as unprecedented.
During the Accra Academy presentation, Agongo reminded the students that Ramadan calls for compassion and service to others, citing Islamic teachings that emphasise generosity as a reflection of faith.

He also expressed hope that the donation would encourage the students and strengthen the bonds of community during the fasting period. He wished all Muslims a blessed and peaceful Ramadan.
