Two people have lost their lives while another is receiving medical treatment following a motorcycle accident at Assin Fosu in the Central Region.
The incident occurred in the early hours of Saturday, March 7, 2026, near Finest Pub along the Cape Coast–Kumasi highway, after two motorcycles reportedly collided.
Preliminary police reports indicate that a 25-year-old rider, Solomon Nyame, was riding an unregistered Royal motorbike with a 23-year-old passenger, Patience Pamful.
The pair were said to be travelling from Assin Juaso towards Assin Fosu at high speed when the crash occurred.
Investigators say the rider allegedly spotted another motorcycle approaching from the opposite direction and attempting to turn towards a junction leading to the pub.
In an attempt to manoeuvre, he reportedly moved into the oncoming lane, resulting in a collision with another unregistered Royal motorbike being ridden by 19-year-old Daniel Agyeko.
The force of the crash threw the riders and the pillion passenger off their motorcycles and onto the roadside pavement.
All three sustained serious injuries and were rushed to St. Francis Xavier Hospital for treatment.
According to the Central North Regional Motor Traffic and Transport Department of the Ghana Police Service, Daniel Agyeko and Patience Pamful were pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital, while Solomon Nyame was admitted and is currently responding to treatment.
The Central North Regional MTTD Commander, ASP Wonder Lumor, confirmed the details of the crash and indicated that the bodies of the deceased have been deposited at the hospital’s morgue pending preservation and autopsy.
