A Communication Team member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Abdulai Sakra Alhassan, has warned political appointees under the NDC administration to stay away from embezzling state funds.
Speaking on News Flash on the Prime Morning Show on March 11, Mr Alhassan cautioned that any misuse of public funds would be met with accountability.
“I’m giving this to all appointees of His Excellency John Dramani Mahama. Dare not touch the money that Ghanaians have trusted you with. If you touch it, we will come for you,” he said.
He added that the NDC government would not wait until leaving office before addressing allegations of corruption among its officials.
“We will not wait for the NDC to leave power before we start pointing out whoever is corrupt. This is not the time for parties; this is not the time for friends and families. This is the time to make sure we leave a good legacy for unborn generations,” he said.
He noted that Ghanaian leaders often do not face the same legal consequences as ordinary citizens, a situation that raises serious concerns about the management and oversight of public funds.
