The Ghana Export-Import (GEXIM) Bank also convened a panel session on the opportunities and challenges within Ghana’s garment and apparel sub-sector as part of day two of its international conference, marking the bank's decade anniversary.
The session featured Nurideen Mohammed, Managing Director of Northshore Apparel Ghana Ltd; Munish Gupta, Cluster Director at ARISE IIP; and Kafui Linda Abbah–Foli, Head of Technical Delivery and Design at the 24-Hour Economy Authority.
Panellists shared practical insights on how to build a resilient and sustainable garment industry, emphasising the need for value chain integration and enhanced local capacity.
They highlighted the importance of strengthening domestic cotton production to supply factories, improving access to capital, and implementing strategic policies to support industry growth.
The discussion also underscored the significance of design innovation and aligning production with evolving consumer tastes, noting that competitiveness in the sector will depend on both quality and market responsiveness.
The session formed part of broader efforts by GEXIM to stimulate industrialisation and position Ghana as a competitive player in the global apparel market.
