Newmont Africa has for the first time appointed two Ghanaians to its regional leadership team. They are Kwame Addo-Kufuor as Regional Chief Financial Officer (RCFO) and Robert Agbozo as Senior Director of Legal Affairs.
Kwame Addo-Kufuor will be responsible for the Region’s Finance, Business Planning, Tax, Internal Audit and Information Technology services while Robert Agbozo will be responsible for the Region’s Legal and Ethics Compliance services.
Prior to joining Newmont, Kwame was the Vice President, Corporate Affairs of AngloGold Ashanti where he held various leadership roles including Head of Finance-West Africa Division, Senior Manager (Financial Reporting) at the Corporate Office in Johannesburg and a Director of AngloGold Ashanti Ghana Ltd.

Kwame also worked with Price Waterhouse London and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Ghana. He has held various senior positions in the mining industry in Ghana including First Vice President of the Ghana Chamber of Mines.
Robert Agbozo on the other-hand also assumes the role of Board Secretary to Newmont Ghana Gold Limited and Newmont Golden Ridge Limited’s Board of Directors. Prior to taking up his new role, Robert was the Manager, Legal Affairs.
Robert was previously an Associate Legal Counsel at Reindorf Chambers, an Accra law firm and also worked with the British Council in various management roles including Regional HR Change Project Manager for East and West Africa.

“The appointment of Kwame Addo-Kufuor and Robert Agbozo aligns with our Regional Inclusion and Diversity strategy of increasing the representation of nationals in Newmont Africa’s senior leadership positions,” said Johan Ferreira, the Regional Senior Vice President of Newmont Mining Corporation’s Africa Operations.

Newmont’s global inclusion & diversity efforts are geared towards ensuring an equitable representation of women and nationals across the organization” he added.
