A driver and his mate have been found dead under mysterious circumstances at Elsie Hotel in Nkawkaw, in the Kwahu West Municipality of the Eastern Region.
The deceased have been identified as Emmanuel Ayisi, 37, a driver, and his mate, Emmanuel Dankyi. They reportedly checked into the hotel after travelling from Donkorkrom.
According to police sources, the two men arrived in Nkawkaw late in the day and decided to spend the night at the hotel before continuing their journey. They were later discovered unresponsive in their room.
The matter was reported to the police, who visited the scene and commenced investigations.
The bodies have been conveyed to the Holy Family Hospital Mortuary in Nkawkaw for preservation and autopsy.
Meanwhile, the manager of the hotel and a security guard have been arrested to assist with investigations as authorities work to unravel the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Police say investigations are ongoing to determine the exact cause of death.
