A damaged section of the Korle Bridge in Accra has become a source of concern for pedestrians and other road users, with fears that the deteriorated structure could pose a serious danger, particularly at night.

Some fishermen who work around the area and were seen mending their nets also expressed concern about the condition of the bridge, describing it as dangerous and calling on the authorities to act before tragedy strikes.

According to them, the situation becomes particularly worrying in the evenings when visibility is poor due to the absence of adequate street lighting.

They fear that without urgent intervention to repair the damaged portion and improve lighting around the bridge, an accident could occur, potentially resulting in loss of life.

The fishermen are therefore appealing to the relevant authorities to respond to their concerns and urgently address the damage.

They believe repairing the bridge and providing adequate lighting would help protect pedestrians, fishermen and other users of the area.
