Mining firm Goldfields Ghana says it is working to list on the Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) within the next two years.
The mining firm has already engaged a foreign advisory firm Bullion to aid the process.
Currently Anglogold Ashanti and Golden Star Resources are the only two listed mining firms listed on the local bourse, out of the about 16 operating in the country.
However, analysts say the number of mining firms listed on the GSE could hit three by 2017.
Country Manager of Goldfields, Alfred Baku, told Joy Business plans to list on the GSE is influenced by efforts to let Ghanaians own part of the firm.
Some analysts see the move by Goldfields as port of efforts to comply with the country's local content policy.
Government has indicated plans to soon compel foreign firms operating in the country to list on the local bourse.
