The La Palm Royal Beach Hotel Tuesday donated truckloads of food and water to flood and fire victims at the Kwame Nkrumah Circle in Accra.
The company also brought 30 of its workers to support in the distribution of the food and water to people in their homes.
More than 150 people lost their lives in a twin floods and fire disaster that hit the capital on Wednesday, June 3, 2015 - a day christened Black Wednesday.
Nana Konadu Boateng, Head of sales and Marketing, said the company heard the cries of the people on Joy FM and felt the need to help.
She said the desperation of the people was overwhelming.
La Palm donated assorted cooked food, six Kia trucks loads of sachet water, and some medical supplies.
Joy News Editor, Araba Koomson who received the items expressed the station’s gratitude for the support.
Firstbanc Financial Services also donated a truckload of mattresses, rice, and other items for the benefit of the flood victims.
Joy FM is coordinating a massive relief effort to help the victims and survivors put their lives back in order.
Many of the survivors have lost everything in the floods and badly need help.
The station, with support from its listeners and partners, has distributed bales of clothes, truckloads of foods, water, soaps, detergents, bags of rice, medicines amongst others.
Supporting the effort, Firstbanc’s Managing Director, Samuel Annie Asiedu, said they were moved by the calls for help from the survivors.
He sympathized with the families that lost loved ones in the twin disaster.

The Ghana Bar Association (GBA) joined the train to donate to the victims of the fire and flood disaster.
President of the Bar Association Nene Amegatcher presented a cheque of GHc20,000 to support the provision of relief efforts. The GBA President said all efforts must be put in place to ensure that the disaster never recurs.
