After TV3's reality show, 'Ghana's Most Beautiful,' there have been speculations that Esi, representative of the Volta should have won the competition. Last Thursday, in an exclusive interview she voiced her feelings about the programme, while she answered a few questions Beatwaves posed to her, about herself. Daily Guide: What is the feeling like after Ghana's most beautiful? Esi: Well, not bad, I'm feeling good, especially after the exposure which has done me a lot of good. Daily Guide: There are speculations that you should have won the competition. What is your view on this issue? Esi: Seriously, everywhere I go, this question comes up. Some times I get irritated about it but then, there is nothing I can do. Seriously I think, it is past and gone, so let's leave it as it is. Daily Guide: Why? Esi: What is written is written. Perhaps, it was written that Ama, 2007, would win Ghana's Most Beautiful. So definitely no matter what anybody does, nobody can take it away from her and that is what happened. So I'm ok with that. I'm ok with the second position. Daily Guide: What is Esi doing at TV3 today? Esi: I'm here to see the producer of the programme and have one-on-one chat with him. After, I collect my pictures. Daily Guide: A little about you. Who is Esi? Esi: Alright, let me start by mentioning my name because all most people know as Esi, but it is only the short form of my full name. I'm Georgina Esinu Agbakpe, 21 years and born on Monday, hence Adjo as people would put it. From the Volta region, I specifically hail from Anloga. Daily Guide: Your educational background? Esi: Esi started schooling at the Koforidua St. John Bosco Catholic J.S.S., proceeded to the Oda Secondary School where she had her secondary education, after which she went to the Mount Mary Training College for a teacher training course. She would pursue other courses later, God willing. Daily Guide: When did you complete your training at Mount Mary? Esi: I have not completed yet, I'm in my third year. Daily Guide: Have you held any position at school? Esi: oh yes! I was the girl's prefect when I was in J.S.S. At S.S.S, I could have been the girl's prefect but due to a past experience my father refused to let me go in for that position. Daily Guide: Why? Esi: I will only give you a gist. When I was in the J.S.S. I was the girl's prefect and you know position and study sometimes do not auger well, especially when you are the quiet type. Sometimes, when I had to learn, something may be happening somewhere and I had to be there. So it affected my study life. I therefore did not do as well in my exams as my dad had expected. My father therefore decided not to let me go into it again. But when I got to Mount Mary, I was made the ladies' college president. Daily Guide: So what do you do as the ladies' college president? Esi: As the ladies' president I'm supposed to see to it that every lady on campus is ok. I coordinate them and solve petty, petty problems among them. By virtue of my post as the president, I'm as well the S.R.C Secretary. Daily Guide: Again, about 'Ghana's Most Beautiful' what urged you into the programme'! Esi: When I saw the ad, I knew I had the talent for it, because right from infancy, I had been engaging myself in such things. In S.S.S, I competed for Miss ODASCO. At Mount Mary training college, I took part in Miss Akwaba and won. I knew I had the talent, I knew I had the flair. Daily Guide: And finally you got into' most beautiful!' Esi: You know my uncle was telling me to go in for Miss Malaika but then I said I wanted something more African. So when I saw the ad on TV3, I decided to part take in Ghana’s Most Beautiful to see where my luck would place me. Source: Daily Guide
