One of the aspirants contesting for Greater Accra NPP Chairmanship race, Dr. Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe has stated emphatically that they are not going to allow anybody or group of persons to destroy Ghana’s democratic dispensation, saying “we the NPP would fight anybody who tries to topple the Atta Mills government.”According to him no matter how bad it is; it is an improvement in Ghana’s democratic government and that if anybody is interested in the presidential seat then the person should wait for President Atta Mills to finish his term of office so that Ghanaians would remove him through the ballot box.Dr. Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe made these statements when he met with the party executives at New Ningo in the Greater Accra region to seek their votes in the upcoming elections of the party. He stated that it is very sad that members of the youth who started with the party during the time of the late Prof. Adu Boahene are still suffering, saying that he is going to take the bull by its horns to make sure that all foot soldiers of the party get a fair share of the cake when it gets to sharing. He disclosed that people have been to detention, homes have been broken during the PNDC era and God being so good the NPP came back to power, adding that they lost power because of their past executives, some of who were ignorant and others did not know the grassroots of the party. He asked them to choose people who can face their opponents. The aspirants noted that since the NDC came to power the country has been grounded and until the NPP comes back the country would remain grounded.“Our past executives could not handle the people well. I do not want anything but just want to bring those grassroots people back to the party in order to help the party come back in 2012,” he stressed. He also tasked them to support Nana Akufo-Addo because if he wins they would see a new approach in their political line, adding this is a time of experimentation and that they need people who can perform. On his part, the chairman of the area, Latif Tetteh Amarno, promised to rally behind him in winning so that he can help the people of Greater Accra region so far as the party is concerned. He observed that the area has been denied of a lot of equipments for far too long as they are not part of the NPP family so they would support him to help the area in winning more votes.Source: The Ghanaian Observer
