All is calm after chaos broke out at the constituency elections of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) at Offinso in the Ashanti Region, police have said.
Speaking to Asempa News in a telephone interview, the Ashanti Regional Police Commander, Chief Superintendent Kojo Appiah, said after the initial confusion that ensued, his men managed to control the rampaging supporters who had started pelting them with stones.
When asked about a police officer who had sustained injuries after being hit by a stone, Chief Superintendent Kojo Appiah said the officer was responding to treatment.
Meanwhile, there was confusion at Akropong in the Eastern Region on Saturday during a constituency election of the party. Police were forced to fire teargas to disperse the rampaging crowd.
