President of the Advertisers Association of Ghana, Joel Nettey has charged members to adhere to the standards and ethics of the profession.
This he stressed is the surest way to ensure only true professionals remain in the industry to enable them effectively weed out “the ‘fly-by-night pretenders who give our profession a bad name”.
Mr. Nettey made the call at the 24th Annual General Meeting of the Association in Accra.
He indicated that the Advertising Authority Bill which practitioners have been calling for is currently before Cabinet for final approval and onward transmission to Parliament for consideration and passage.
The AAG President is convinced the bill when passed will serve as a guide for all advertisers both members and non-members to bring sanity into the industry.
“It is our sincere believe that this Bill will in no small way help bring sanity into our industry as a whole and we look forward to it” he added.
Joel Nettey also revealed that the flagship industry event of the Advertising Association, Gong-Gong Awards will be held on October 10th, 2015.
He urged members to ensure that all the deserving work they produced in 2014 from Creative, Media and Outdoor to Activations and Digital are duly entered.
Joel Nettey pledged together with his executives to nurture a spirit of well-being and togetherness and forge ahead to move the advertising industry forward.
