Residents of Amanfro who have in the past two weeks been a target of armed robberies will next week get the chance to identify suspects arrested in connection with the attacks.
A swoop by the regional police command in the Ga South Municipality at dawn on Saturday has led to the arrest of some 37 suspects aged between 18 and 35.
The police also seized several mobile phones, Indian hemp, and other items.
Greater Accra Regional Police Commander, Christian Tetteh Yohuno has assured residents the police are committed to fight and reduce the spate of crime that has hit the area in recent times.

He said the role of the residents in identifying the robbers is crucial and urged them to come to the station and take part in the identification process.
The identified robbers will then be arraigned before court to face the law, he added.
“We are not going to tackle Amanfrom alone. We are also going to look at surrounding areas like Kasoa, Sakumono and areas around Oyarifa where we suspect these criminals are.
“We, therefore, call on the residents to assist us in these operations so that Accra can be a safe place as we get closer to the festive season.”
Meanwhile the Interior Minister, Mark Woyongo has announced plans to get the Local Government Ministry to compel assemblies to invest in policing.
The Minister, however, said there is no specific budget for constructing and equipping police posts.
“There is no specific budget for these things, I’ve answered this question in parliament on many occasions but the MPs and District Assemblies have a role to play in the construction of police posts.
“The District assemblies should use part of their common fund, DDF and other funds to put up some of these structures”, he added.
He said the police cannot afford to put up a post in every district and it is for this reason that local government must step in and assist to ensure the safety and security of residents.
