The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) has lauded the Department of National Lotteries (DNL) for its sterling performance and urged it to continue with its good work to rake in more money for the government.
When the management team from the NLA, led by its Director-General, Mr Kojo Andah, appeared before the committee on Thursday, it came to light that the department paid GH¢12,700,000, GH¢10,800,000 and GH¢6,000,000 into the Consolidated Fund in 2009, 2008 and 2007, respectively.
The tremendous transformation and growth of the National lottery Authority from its civil service days as Department of National Lotteries to now, which is arguably one of the most striving public institutions in Ghana has highly been praised by many.
It was no wonder this progressive development of an ailing institution into a profitable institution under the able leadership of Mr. kojo Andah as the Chief Executive officer with his Deputy directors earned the institution praises at the Public Account Committee hearing.
Mr Andah was supported at the hearing by NLA’s Director of finance, Mr. Charles Mensah.
Before taking up the CEO of DNL Mr. Kojo Andah served as the Senior Auditor with PriceWaterhouse Coopers, Financial Controller with Western Casting Ltd., and Deputy Group Treasurer and Corporate Finance Manager with Ashanti Goldfields Company, now AngloGold Ashanti.
