The Eastern Region police have mounted a manhunt for three armed robbers who were part of a gang that hijacked a commercial bus at New Jejeti on the Accra-Kumasi highway.
The robbers riddled the commercial bus with bullets and robbed the passengers on the bus but were shot at by security personnel.
Three of the six robbers were apprehended after a gun battle that ensued between the robbers and police.
None of the passengers were injured, police say.
Deputy Regional Police Commander ACP James Abass Abaah is appealing to the public to report anyone with bullet wounds seeking medical attention at a hospital.
ACP James Azumah Abass wants anyone with information to contact the Eastern region police hotline on 0342022569 or the general hotline on 18555.
He wants doctors and nurses to be on the lookout for anyone reporting to a health center for treatment of gunshot wounds.
