Mr. Tara Squire, Manager of Consumer and Payfone Segment of Zain Ghana, on Monday reiterated the company's commitment to help the development of the nation as well as subscribers through its corporate social responsibility projects (CSR).
"We will continue to find novelty avenues of helping the development of the country through our CSR programmes including Zain Touching Lives, Zain Africa Challenge and Zain Live your Dream."
Mr Squire made this known at a ceremony in Accra to present a cheque of GHc35,000 to Ms Anita Tornyie, a 21 -year- old, pharmacy assistant Intern at Tarkwa Government Hospital.
Ms Tornyie is the winner of the fourth week draw of the "Zain live your dream promotion".
The second and the third winners, Akosua Serwaa, a resident of Kumasi and George Sekun, a resident of Accra also received GHc5,000 each to live their dream.
Mr Squire said since its inception, the promotion had rewarded four ultimate winners and eight others, amounting to about GHc202,500.
The 10-week promotion was to reward about 1,000 fixed and cellular pre-paid customers and empower them through the provision of funds to embark on their dream projects.
For one to qualify for the promotion he or she needs a top-up of two Ghana cedis and use of 50 Ghana pesewas airtime, which will earn points for the weekly draw.
He said the company's objective was to empower its customers to become passionate and creative.
"We want to encourage our customers to be radiant by leading the way in imagination and vision since we now have over one million subscribers within six months of operation in this country and we are marching towards our customer target for 2010," he said.
Ms Tornyie in a brief remark said: "I never for a second thought I could be so lucky to win such a huge amount; I am simply overwhelmed by how real the promotion is."
"This is a great boost to my education and I will in turn invest it into my education to ensure that my dream of becoming a pharmacist materialises."
As part of the promotion, Zain has partnered Cal Bank to offer financial advice to all Live your Dream cash prize winners including Tornyie and her family on the best way to invest the money in order to achieve their dream.
