A family of five in New Juaben in the Eastern region have died in what residents believe was an acid attack by the father.
Some of the residents claim they overheard the father, Kwesi Asare who is also known as Kwesi Brother, aged 50, threatening to kill his wife Maa Jane, believed to be in her 40s. They had been engaged in a short quarrel.
According to Joy News’ Kofi Siaw, residents found the body of the father, his wife’ and those of the three children(Ellen,15, Edmund, 7 and Ohene 4 years) in their room.
The residents say a burnt window net and the removed louvre blades drew their attention.

The bodies had turned reddish, fueling suggestions that an acidic substance was poured on them.
Residents suspect that the father, Kwasi Asare, after committing the crime, killed himself by drinking a lethal substance.
Police in Koforidua have since deposited the bodies at the Koforidua Government hospital morgue.
