The Director-General of the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC), Major Albert Don-Chebe (retd), has been elected President of the African Union of Broadcasting (AUB).
Major Don-Chebe takes over the presidency from Mr Tewfik Khelladi, Director-General of the Algerian Broadcasting Corporation, who occupied the position for four years.
The election took place at the Ninth Annual General Meeting of AUB at Abuja, Nigeria, on November 27, 2015.
The AUB is the continent’s umbrella association for all broadcasting companies in Africa. It has a membership of 48 national broadcasting entities and 15 private broadcasting companies which are associate members.
AUB is headquartered in Dakar, Senegal, and affiliated to the African Union (AU).
