The Ministry of Transport is arranging to airlift Ghana International Airlines passengers stranded at a number of airports around the world.
The affected passengers are in London, Dusseldorf and the Kotoka International Airport in Accra for several days with no clue when they will make their journeys.
GIA is helpless because it is unable to tell the passengers when their indebtedness to the company from which it leases aircraft will be settled. The company has grounded their aircraft.
Deputy Minister of Transport, Dzifa Ativor explains to Joy Business that the stranded passengers would be put on other airlines.
She said only paid passengers will be taken care of and not those who have booked.
She however blames the airline's managers for the passengers’ predicament, accusing them of mismanagement.
She said the development is worrying for the government.
