The Ghana Post Board has settled on a new Collective Bargaining Agreement with workers of the company who have rejected an earlier agreement.
Details of the new CBA are not public, but Joy Business sources say the document is currently awaiting implementation having been signed by both the staff and management.
It follows an ultimatum by the Communications Minister, Haruna Iddrisu last Monday, ordering management of Ghana Post to have the issue addressed by close of day yesterday.
The Board of Ghana Post in recent weeks has been battling staff over agitations for the removal of some persons in management and for a review of the existing CBA because they were unhappy with a recommended salary increase of 25 percent.
Further checks by Joy Business indicate the implementation of the retiring benefits will take place after three months.
This however will pose a challenge because it appears the Communications Ministry will have to intervene with a bailout package.
The Minister is however advocating for a recapitalization of the institution.
