Sacked Youth Employment Agency CEO has hit back at Labour Minister Haruna Iddrisu, describing him as a "liar."

Vincent Kuagbenu is angered by comments by the minister that he, as boss of the beleaguered YEA, terminated appointments of some 14 physically challenged persons.

The Minister made the allegation in a heated verbal exchange with Joy News' Manasseh Azure Awuni.

Haruna Iddrisu was accused among other things of blowing some 900,000 cedis on an international travel and spending beyond his ministry's approved budget at YEA.

After two rounds of separate interviews which had to be truncated at some point, the minister finally stormed the studios of Joy FM for a third encounter with Azure.

Haruna Iddrisu dismissed the allegations Azure made against him but also accused Manasseh of doing the bidding of Mr Kuagbenu.

Apart from accusing Mr Kuagbenu of denying 14 physically challenged persons an opportunity to be employed at YEA, Haruna Iddrisu also accused the sacked YEA boss of leaking official documents to Manasseh.

Haruna Iddrisu stated that it was through his policy intervention that physically challenged persons were employed.

But on Wednesday, Mr Kuagbenu also came to the studios of Joy FM to debunk the allegations made by the minister.

He could not understand how a minister who had sworn an oath will be that economical with the truth.

He said the minister never made any policy directive to the Board of the YEA, insisting, "that is the incredible fabrication of a minister who had taken an oath."

"If the minister wanted to respect the tenets of the ACT that he was part of in passing he would not have made that falsehood here.

"I throw a challenge to the Minister to show evidence of the policy that he issued," he stated.

He said he may be forced to petition the president over the allegations made by Haruna Iddrisu adding, he had throughout his tenure worked with people with disabilities.

He said he had put in place a plan of action that would employ over 2000 persons with disability which is evident in the 2016 budget.

"If I am averse to the interest of persons with disability would I be working to engage over 2000 persons?

"I do not have any issue with Hon. Haruna Iddrisu. I disagree with him on matters of principle and that is all.

"He is a colleague, a young person. He passes to be my back born. I have been in public service several years before him. He is a minister and I respect him but he cannot lie. How can a minister who has taken a public oath come to a radio station and profess falsehood.

"We must try to live the integrity that the president holds," he said.
