Parliament’s Public Accounts Committee (PAC) on Tuesday expressed disapproval of failure of central bank Governor, Kofi Wampah, to show up at sittings.
Dr Wampah was expected to appear with his deputies to explain adverse findings against the Bank of Ghana in the 2011-2013 audit report.
Sitting was halted for over an hour in anticipation of the arrival of the Bank of Ghana boss, but he failed to show up – two officials of the Bank came in his stead.
The officials claimed they had no idea of charges against the Bank, hence the reason for their late arrival.
The Committee members were enraged at the situation and condemned Dr Wampah for disrespecting the committee.
A Ranking Member of the Committee Ibrahim Dey Abubakari said the central bank Governor should be censured for taking the sittings for granted.
The committee sitting came to an abrupt end after the two officials attempted an explanation for the absence of their boss.
