Accra is the 107th most expensive city in the world for expatriates.
Ghana's capital city ranked better than most countries in Africa including neighboring Abidjan, Dakar and Yaonde.
The MERCER survey covers 214 cities across five continents and measures the comparative cost of over 200 items in each location, including housing, transport, food, clothing, household goods and entertainment.
An official of Mercer Nathalie Constantin-Metral tells Joy Business the survey however does not represent the cost of living for locals.
She said the Angolan capital Luanda was found to be the most expensive city. Ndjamena in Chad and Libreville in Gabon were also found to be expensive cities as well.
Ridwan Ibrahim Asante who witnessed at firsthand the high cost of living in Luanda during the recent African Cup of Nations said he is not surprised about the outcome of the survey.
