The campaign team of Klottey Korle MP Aspirant Philip Addison says it is certain of victory in the February 27 Parliamentary primaries.
This follows a decision by the NPP’s National Executive Committee to re-organize the polls in the constituency on February 27.
The Klottey Korle constituency has been one of the constituencies besmirched with controversies in both NPP and NDC parliamentary primaries.
In NPP, Philip Addison who polled 22 as against 393 votes for Nii Noi Nortey headed for court after he boycotted the election in August last year.
He accused the party executives in the constituency and the Electoral Commission of rigging the election.
The case was withdrawn for an internal party resolution. On February 4, 2016, he Steering Committee of the party directed a re-run cancelling Nii Noi Nortey's victory.
Nii Noi Nortey expressed disappointment in the party's decision and vowed not to partake in what he called ‘sham’ rerun.
But Campaign Manager of Mr. Addison, Norman Tetteh says they are preparing for the rerun.
He stated that Philip Addison’s campaign team will leave no stone unturned in annexing the Klottey Korle seat.
“We believe in the fact that it is an election and in an election you either win or lose. For the chances of Lawyer Addison I think you should come to the ground and verify or see for yourself,” Mr Tetteh told Joy News.
Despite Mr Addison’s poor performance in the earlier vote, he believes that the lawyer's chances are more than “overwhelming”.
