A 21-year old welder has been sentenced to 39 years imprisonment in hard labour by a Kumasi Circuit Court for robbery.
Richard Osei Tutu, 21, pleaded guilty.A State Attorney, Mrs Gyamfuaah Sarpong, told the court that Miss Eunice Arthur, a nurse, was on her way to buy air time credit for her cell phone on June 06 when Richard attacked her.
He drew a knife and ordered her to surrender her phone and all the money on her, which she did to save her life.
The prosecution said one Stephen Antwi appeared on the scene and the convict fled into the bush but he was later spotted and arrested.Source: GNA
