The Domestic Violence and Victims Support Unit (DOVVSU) has charged a man Yahaya Abdulai with causing psychological harm to his wife.
Yahaya Abdulai is said to have forced human excreta down the throat of the wife after a misunderstanding ensued between the couple.
Yahaya Abdulai who has been granted bail is billed to appear in an Accra Circuit court next Monday.
The Public Relations Officer of DOVVSU, Chief Inspector Irene Oppong told Asempa news that the man physically assaulted the woman and later went for the human waste to force it under the throat of the wife.
According to Chief Inspector Oppong, the woman was lying on a bed crying after the assault and Yahaya went out only to return with the human excreta in his left hand and forced the woman to eat it in the process.
The inhumane incident occurred at Ridge in Accra about week ago.
Chief Inspector Irene Oppong added that Yahaya will be put before the Domestic Violence-based Court at the Cocoa Affairs Court on Monday.
