Former Managing Director of Intercity STC Kwame Adjei-Sefa is challenging a supposed report purported to have been released by a committee set up by Transport Minister Mike Hammah to look into alleged financial malfeasance at the company.
The committee chaired by Mr. Abu Millah, a financial consultant, came out with a damning report on the company questioning certain decisions of the management which have threatened the very survival of the company.
One of the six main areas of concern was the lack of proper procurement procedures.
The report stated that Intercity STC did not adhere to proper procurement procedures in the purchase of its Eicher buses from SVANI.
But speaking with Asempa News, Mr. Adjei-Sefa says he did not pay any money purported to have been paid to SVANI for the purchase of Eicher buses.
According to him, during his term of office as the MD, he did not buy any bus from SVANI Motors and did not also pay any money to the company.
He said if there was any money paid to SVANI Motors then the current management should be made to answer because he has no idea about that.
