The Electoral Commission is urging the police to arrest National Democratic Congress (NDC) supporters who claim they rigged the 2008 elections in the Tain constituency in the Brong Ahafo Region.
They made the confession at a press conference in Kumasi to announce their defection to the NPP.
According them, they stole ballot boxes to enable the NDC win the elections in the area.
They accuse party executives of reneging on their promise to reward them for their role.
The MP for Tain, Ahmed Ibrahim, has confirmed the identities of the supporters but denies the allegations.
He has asked the police to arrest them.
Public Relations Officer at the EC, Christian Owusu Parry, says although the commission has not been officially notified of the incident, it endorses calls their arrest and prosecution.
