The Central Regional secretariat of the opposition New Patriotic Party is angry with organizers of this year’s Oguaa Fetu Afahye for allegedly sidelining Nana Akufo Addo during Saturday’s durbar.
The party claims its flagbearer Nana Akufo Addo donated items towards the celebration and informed the traditional authorities that he would be at the durbar on Saturday.
But at the event, the organizers failed to acknowledge his presence although some constituency and regional executives of the NDC were acknowledged.
They are also accusing President Mills of leaving out Nana Addo while greeting dignitaries at the durbar.
Describing the incident as a shame, Richard Tekyi-Mensah, Central Regional NPP Communications Director said the organisers were afraid the NPP leader will steal the show once his name is mentioned.
"We think that because of the hardships that the people have been plunged into by the Prof Mills administration, they think that if they had given him that recognition he would have stolen the show," he alleged."
He challenged the president to give meaning to his president and father for all maxim.
