Associated Composite Materials (ACM), a reputable Indian security company has in partnership with Virtual Security Africa, launched the latest version of Body Armour products in Ghana.
ACM is a member of the Associated Group of India, a well established engineering, manufacturing and export organisation in Noida Special Economy Zone (NSEZ), India, with a turnover of over US$ 50 Million.
A statement issued at the launch said the “Personal Body Armor is a type of light armor used to protect police forces, private citizens and private security guards or bodyguards, whereas hard-plate reinforced vests are mainly worn by combat soldiers, police tactical units and hostage rescue teams.”
It said ACM’s partnership with VSA, a digital surveillance company, is part of efforts by the two companies “to provide the best solution and one stop shop and supply of High End Military Hardware for Ministries of Defence and National Securities in Africa.”
This, it said is in lieu of the government of Ghana’s stated objective of proactively fighting crime and maintaining peace and security in the country for sustainable development.
“Associated Composite Materials is into the manufacture of advanced ballistic solutions, engineering plastic solutions, manufacture of ballistic glass and technical textile materials for special applications as well as providing turnkey engineering solutions and would use Ghana as a base to manufacture and assemble its products for distributions to the rest of Africa.”
To achieve the objective of making Ghana a one-stop-shop for state-of-the-art body armor equipment, “ACM in the next two years will set up a manufacturing plant in Ghana to produce and assemble High End Military products like; Bullet Proof Hard Armour Panel, Bullet Proof Helmet, Bullet Proof Jacket and Vest, Bullet Proof glass, Ballistics Grade Door & Windows, Ballistic Grade Lectum Podium, Bullet Proof Bend Vehicle Glass, Vehicle/Building/Aircraft Armouring, Bullet cum Blast (Explosion) resistant Glass and Non Glass- Glass Clear Visors and Laminates for onward distribution across Africa.”
The Head of Sales and Marketing at ACM, Shahvez Jafary, said ACM is committed to using cutting edge technologies to combat the ever changing threat to law enforcement, military and corrections personnel, as well leading the best ways in saving lives and properties through the company’s Ballistic Protection Products.
He said the entry of ACM into the Ghana market would not only create job opportunities for Ghanaians, but also open up the economy of Ghana in the area of military hardware and equipment as well as enhance trade and investment in the country.
“As businesses are growing as a result of growth in investor confidence, coupled with the Oil find in Ghana, the government must move immediately to support the Police, Army, Air force and especially the Navy through the provision of security equipment to protect business interests of Ghanaians and other investors alike,” he said.
The Marketing Manager of VSA, Abdulai Abdul-Rahaman said “we on our part at Virtual Security Africa (VSA) will continue to partner the best companies across the world to provide world class security equipment, products and services to governments, security agencies, businesses and individuals across Africa and especially within Ghana.”
He said the company was determined to maintain the niche it has carved for itself in the security industry.
