The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has initiated investigations into a reported kidnapping of four Ghanaians and some other nationals by Somali pirates. The crew on board an Arabian vessel has allegedly been detained by the pirates for the past six months.Their whereabouts as well as reasons for their kidnapping remain unknown. The Foreign Ministry began investigations after a relative of one of those kidnapped petitioned it.Acting Chief Director at the ministry, Lawrence Satuh, said “we do not have any information as to what they are demanding because the owners of the ship or the pirates themselves have not put out any information which will be helpful for us to know exactly what they want.”Mr. Sotah says Ghana’s Mission in Saudi Arabia has been contacted to assist.Source: Myjoyonline.com/Ghana
