Some unidentified persons firing gunshots are said to have kidnapped a man over what is believed to be a dispute over a piece of land at a small town called Leo near Asutuare junction.
Early reports said some residents including the injured were fleeing the town for fear of their lives.
When the police went to the area, two bathroom slippers covered with blood were found in the bush, the Dodowa District Commander, DSP Kumeko told Joy News’ Dzifa Bampoh.
A Tundra pick-up and a Ford bush hog were also found abandoned in the bush.
According to the police the initial information gathered from the residents say those involved in the kidnapping are suspected to be gangs from Ashaiman.
An eyewitness told Joy FM one of the kidnappers who was ‘fat’ called the "kidnapped victim" by name and when he responded to the call, they started beating him up without any apparent provocation.
Realizing that their actions have attracted attention as people called in the man’s siblings, they dragged him into the bush as they continued the beating until nobody saw or heard from them.
