Former Information Minister, Stephen Asamoah Boateng, has condemned what he says is the unnecessary fixation of a section of the Ghanaian media on Nigerian evangelist and miracle-worker Prophet T. B. Joshua. The head of the Synagogue Church is known to have close links with President Mills and is said to have prophesied his election 2008 victory. The Punch newspaper reports it recently spotted Mr. Asamoah Boateng at the Church. His association with the Nigerian preacher who also predicted the outcomes of football matches in which the country was involved, has attracted some harsh comments. But the former minister says the media’s obsession with Prophet TB Joshua is unnecessary. He said he has been a member of Prophet TB Joshua’s congregation since 2002 and wonders why some sections of the media make a fuss about the man of God.“I am a member of the church, I don’t know why people just want to talk about unnecessary matters. My salvation is my personal life, I can find it wherever I want to find it,” he said. The former MP for Mfantsiman East, told Joy News that when Prophet Joshua “celebrated his 43rd birthday, I was in the Synagogue in Lagos, the special magazine that was printed for him, I was in the magazine.”Source: Joy News/Ghana
