The Police say they have dropped charges against Morris Adade Ansah who was picked up in January for allegedly possessing fake Drivers Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) certificates, stickers and other documents.

A release Thursday by the Service said investigators are unable to gather evidence suggesting that the 47 year-old man has forged or was in possession of fake documents.

“After a thorough investigation, the allegation of possession of fake DVLA road worthiness stickers, a quantity of GOIL Company coupons and some National Insurance stickers could not be established. Consequently, the case was discontinued, for lack of evidence.”

Police picked up Mr. Ansah on January 13 at the premises of the Accra Central Divisional Police Command upon a complaint lodged against him by Abubakari Kweikuma Ansah and Veronica Koowa Ansah for the possession of fake DVLA road worthiness stickers.

He was alleged to have kept the said fake items in the wardrobe of his mother until her demise.

The case was subsequently referred to the Visa and Document Unit of the CID Headquarters, Accra for investigation, after the media had been briefed about it.

However, the Unit has failed gather evidence that pins Mr Ansah to the charges.

The Police administration wants the public to take note accordingly.
