Investigations have commenced into an alleged food poisoning case which occurred at the Madina SDA Primary School yesterday.
The headteacher Madam Kate told Joy News she suspected something was wrong with the okra soup that accompanied the banku prepared by the caterer.
She said her suspicions were confirmed rather too late when the pupils reacted badly with complaints of stomach and abdominal pains.
About twenty of them were rushed to the Madina Polyclinic where doctors said it may have been a case of food poisoning.
Public Relations Officer at the Ghana Schools Feeding Programme Siba Alfa said the caterer will be relieved of her duties while investigations will commence into the issue.
He said for now, a new caterer will be engaged albeit on a temporary basis, to cook for the pupils.
