Cape Coast Mayor Anthony Egyir Aikins has threatened to halt the operations of telecom companies in the metropolis for non-payment of property rates.
He said the practice must not be allowed to continue.
Joy FM’s Central Regional Correspondent Richard Kojo Nyarko reported that the Cape Coast Municipality has been battling to meet its revenue targets.
The situation has been partly blamed on the failure of telecom companies to pay property rates.
The Municipality said it will be compelled to ask the telcos to cease operations if the National Communications Authority does not instruct the companies to pay their property rates.
