A 47-year old lotto agent and a resident of Tafo Nyiaeso in the Kumasi Metropolis took advantage of his closeness with the father of an eleven year old girl to sexually abuse her.
In order to accomplish the act, the alleged rapist sent the younger brother of the victim to buy him chewing gum and in his absence committed the act.
Luck however eluded him when the witness he tried sending away appeared on the scene and caught him in the act.
Erick Agyemang Yeboah, the accused, is alleged to have had carnal knowledge of the victim when she and her younger brother visited him in his house to collect some movies.
Briefing the Kumasi Metropolitan Authority (KMA) Circuit Court presided over by Judge William Boampong, Detective Inspector Martin Assenso, said at 12 noon on October 17, this year, the victim and his
younger brother went to pick some movies at the accused person's room.
He said Yeboah intentionally sent the victim's brother to buy him chewing gum and no sooner had he left than he removed the girl's panties and sexually abused her.
However, Mr. Assenso said the victim's brother emerged later and witnessed what happened.
On October 26, the younger brother narrated the incident to his mother who later reported the matter to the Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit of the Tafo Pamkrono Police where she was issued with a medical form for examination.
He said the medical report confirmed that the victim has been sexually abused and after investigation, the accused was charged for the offence and processed for court.
Erick A. Yeboah, however, denied the act and was remanded into Prison custody to reappear on November 16, 2010.
