The Accra Metropolitan Assembly and the Ledzokuku Krowor municipality are both claiming jurisdiction over of a parcel of land on the Spintex Road where an AMA task force on Monday attempted to remove some advertising billboards.
The incident which led to a clash with officials of the advertising agencies almost resulted in the death of a driver of IMPACT Ads, an advertising agency, when the police allegedly fired at his vehicle.
The ad agency challenged the AMA on grounds the piece of land does not belong to it.
But Deputy Director of Administration at the AMA, Ben Armah justifies their claim to the land.
“Spintex area from what I know is part of La sub-metro.”
Municipal Chief Executive of Ledzokuku Krowor, Daniel Amartey Mensah is however, challenging the AMA’s claims.
He said since the Ledzokuku Krowor was created, the Accra Shopping Mall area and other businesses have come under his assembly.
The two parties are set to hold a meeting later today to try and resolve the issue.
