Speaker Bamford Addo takes over as acting President

Speaker of Parliament, Joyce Bamford Addo has taken over as the acting President of Ghana. Both the president and his vice are out of the country on international assignment. President Mills left Accra this morning for Abuja for a meeting with his Nigerian counterpart. He is due back in Accra later this afternoon. Communications Director at the Presidency, Koku Anyidoho said the meeting will centre on how the two leaders can work together to enhance the image of the West African sub-region. Mr Anyidoho said the full extent of the discussion will be disclosed when the president returns. Source: Joy News/Ghana
