Police in Dansoman have arrested a 40-year-old man for allegedly beating his wife to death, Tuesday.
Joy News’ Maxwell Agbagba reports Ama Osah’s alleged battery and subsequent death was caused by her decision to switch off a ceiling fan in the one-bedroom apartment she was staying with her husband.
After her alleged battery she was rushed to a nearby hospital but she was pronounced dead on arrival.
Ama’s neighbours say the 43-year-old mother of two – who sells disposal cups and bowls – returned home from the market feeling feverish and hence ordered her sister to put off the creaking ceiling fan in her living room while she rested.
Angered by the Ama’s decision, her husband, Kwabena Hemeng, descended on the trader and started assaulting her, neighbours recount.
Eyewitnesses say Kwabena hit his wife with a chair and other heavy objects in the living room.
Neigbours say the ten-year marriage of the couple has been fraught with quarrels and misunderstanding.
Kwabena Hemeng is currently assisting the Dansoman Divisional Police Command with investigation.
