Asamoah Gyan has finally got his favoured jersey number at club level after being handed the '3' squad number at Al Ahli Dubai.
The Ghana striker has signed a one-year loan deal, following a difficult spell with Shanghai SIPG in China. When he first signed for the Chinese side in mid-2016, he had been initially given the 35 shirt, because the 3 was occupied.
But he later got it.
Similarly, at his current club, the 30-year old was initially given number 90, but his official unveiling saw him holding the 3.
Gyan has cult status in the UAE, where a four year spell from 2011 saw him net 128 goals in 123 for Al Ain.
He's hoping to replicate the same form.
