Jubilee partner, Tullow Oil has announced it is getting ready to begin work on the country’s next oil field less than two months after pouring crude oil from the Jubilee Field.
Addressing journalists and investors via a conference call Thursday, officials say a plan for the development of the Mahogany East Field will be submitted to government by March this year.
Exploration Director, Angus McCoss says they are working hard to ensure the field is developed on time.
He however will not predict when oil is expected to flow from the well.
The Mahogany field holds between a hundred and five hundred million barrels of crude and is located southeast of the Jubilee Field.
It currently has five wells on which various appraisal works are been done.
Tullow has a 22.89 per cent interest in the field which is operated by Komos Energy.
