The Government has released over GHS300,000 to beneficiaries of the Livelihood Empowerment against Poverty Programme in the Upper West region.The money represents arrears for November and December last year.Each beneficiary will receive GHS30 for the two months.Alhaji Issaku Salia, who is the Upper West Regional Minister assured that the money will reach the beneficiaries.The Minister explained that the money is to give the people basic comfort and enable them undertake economic ventures on their own to improve their living conditions and said the money is not given to chiefs to distribute or to headmen to distribute, but it is given directly to beneficiaries.Source: Joy News/Ghana
